COVID-19 Update - September 30, 2022

Per CDC guidance, Ingalls Shipbuilding will no longer be required to collect and contact trace COVID-19 cases. Today, September 30, the Ingalls Medical department will disconnect the nurse call line and will discontinue the daily collection of COVID-19 cases. This means that the COVID-19 phone line and response email address will no longer be active as of October 1.

Upcoming Onsite Vaccine Dates

Ingalls Shipbuilding will offer 1st, 2nd, and booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Ingalls employees and dependents at the Ingalls COVID-19 Testing Center on the west side of Jerry St. Pe’ Hwy. on Thursday, March 24, 1-4 p.m.

Mask Guidance, January 7, 2022

As you are aware, the Gulf Coast is experiencing a surge in positive COVID-19 cases. For everyone’s safety, effective today through Friday, January 21, 2022, please wear a mask inside all buildings at work, unless you are alone in your specific work area. You are also encouraged to wear your mask in crowded outdoor settings, during activities involving close contact with others, and in meetings that require large attendance in person, as we attempt to arrest the rampant spread of the virus. We will reassess in a couple of weeks.

COVID-19 Testing & CDC Guidance

As a reminder, COVID-19 rapid testing is offered for employees and dependents onsite at the Ingalls COVID-19 Testing Center, located on the west side of Jerry St. Pe’ Highway, Monday – Friday from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Rapid test results will be received within 15-30 minutes.

As the holidays approach, we should all remain vigilant of coronavirus as cases of the Omicron variant are being diagnosed. While scientists are still studying and assessing the risks and potential impact of this variant, the best precaution you can take now is to get your booster shot before the upcoming holidays, when more travel and indoor gatherings are expected.

Ingalls now administering COVID boosters

As we head into the holidays and winter season and new COVID variants are emerging, Ingalls will now offer COVID vaccine booster shots to employees. If 6 months have passed since your last COVID vaccine dose, you are eligible for a booster. The boosters will be available at the onsite vaccine events already scheduled, so no appointment is necessary. Please bring your COVID vaccination card.

1. What happens to my medical benefits if I am separated from employment due to not being fully vaccinated by December 8th? If you are represented, your active coverage will continue to the end of the month. If you are non-represented, your active coverage will end the day of separation from the company. For non-represented employees who separate prior to December 8th as a retirement, coverage will continue to the end of the month. Employees and dependents covered by the medical plan will be eligible for COBRA continuation.
