COVID-19 Update

March 21, 2022

As positive cases of COVID-19 decline at Ingalls and in our community, we are returning as much as possible to pre-COVID-19 policies.

Quarantine Pay

Effective Friday, April 1, 2022, the policy that provided employees payment for up to five days (40 hours) of COVID-19 Absence Pay, if they test positive for COVID-19 and are fully vaccinated, will no longer apply.  Those employees who are quarantined prior to April 1, but whose five day quarantine period extends beyond April 1, will still be eligible for up to five days of Absence Pay. Employees should adhere to the standard absence policies if they choose not to report to work.

Mask Guidance

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued updated COVID-19 guidance designed to help communities assess their local COVID-19 risk and appropriate prevention steps. The new community levels are determined by the number of hospital admissions, hospital beds in use and COVID-19 cases in an area. Based on this new guide of measurement, the Gulf Coast has transitioned to the lowest community level. As a result, masks are no longer required at Ingalls Shipbuilding, including indoor and outdoor settings. This applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.

Vaccines & Testing

Please continue to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and get tested if you have any symptoms. Ingalls will offer 1st, 2nd, and booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Ingalls employees and dependents at the Ingalls COVID-19 Testing Center on the west side of Jerry St. Pé Hwy. Thursday, March 24, 1-4 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

COVID-19 rapid testing is offered onsite at the Ingalls COVID-19 Testing Center, located on the west side of Jerry St. Pé Highway, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning April 11th, testing hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
