As a reminder, COVID-19 rapid testing is offered for employees and dependents onsite at the Ingalls COVID-19 Testing Center, located on the west side of Jerry St. Pe’ Highway, Monday – Friday from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Rapid test results will be received within 15-30 minutes.
As we begin the new year, we are faced with a significant post-holiday spike in COVID-19 case rates nationwide. The virus is now known to be spreading more quickly through the population. Many of us have been traveling and spending time with family and friends and may have unknowingly contracted the virus.
Here are some CDC recommendations to remember:
• Stay home if sick – except to get medical care.
• Practice social distancing by keeping at least 6 feet away from others.
• Wear a mask.
• Inform your supervisor if you develop COVID-19 symptoms at work.
• Wash hands often.
• Use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
If you feel ill or have been in close contact with someone who’s tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to work and seek testing as necessary. For more information, refer to the CDC’s COVID-19 webpage. Further details and updated guidance will be provided when available.
