Ingalls recognizes Juneteenth

AASA (African American Shipbuilders Association) is one of nine established Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at Ingalls. We are committed to supporting HII’s values as well as its diversity and inclusion program. ERGs are a key part of Ingalls Shipbuilding’s diversity and inclusion strategy and framework. One of the pillars of diversity and inclusion is understanding. The more we learn about each other, the more we gain understanding about each other’s perspectives.

As we celebrate Women's History Month in March, take time to recognize the great achievements and innovations of women throughout our nation’s history and their significant impact on the success of Ingalls Shipbuilding and HII. The 2022 Women’s History theme is “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope,” a recognition of the thousands of ways that women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history.

Celebrate Women's History Month

Join #IngallsShipbuilding in honoring the legacy of women in our workforce for Women’s History Month. Women like Mississippi-native Vera Anderson, who won the first Women's National Welding Championship in 1944. She was one of the many women who joined the workforce during WWII to ensure U.S. soldiers and allied forces had the supplies needed to return home victorious.

Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy

Ingalls and AASA will recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s profound legacy virtually in a video tribute on Jan. 18, 2021. The video will feature snapshots of Dr. King’s noble work in action and fellow Ingalls employees who are dedicated to being agents for change in the best ways. Employees can view the video via a link sent from Communications by email, on the intranet, or through IngallsConnect App on the AASA page.
