Celebrate Women's History Month

Published on 03/16/2021

Join #IngallsShipbuilding in honoring the legacy of women in our workforce for Women’s History Month. Women like Mississippi-native Vera Anderson, who won the first Women's National Welding Championship in 1944. She was one of the many women who joined the workforce during WWII to ensure U.S. soldiers and allied forces had the supplies needed to return home victorious.

The legacy continues 77 years later with Ingalls welder apprentice Mattie Cole. Mattie is part of the next generation of women in our workforce dedicated to building state-of-the-art ships that defend our shores. Thank you for your hard work, Vera and Mattie! #WHM #WomenInConstruction #TheLegendContinues #WomensHistoryMonth
