Celebrating National Women's History Month

Published on 03/03/2022

As we celebrate Women's History Month in March, take time to recognize the great achievements and innovations of women throughout our nation’s history and their significant impact on the success of Ingalls Shipbuilding and HII. The 2022 Women’s History theme is “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope,” a recognition of the thousands of ways that women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history.

Here are ways you can honor the contributions of women in our workforce:

Join an ERG that celebrates women.

Women in Shipbuilding Enterprise (WISE) fosters a diverse work environment through networking and promoting positive performance and employee growth.

Shipbuilding Women Engineers (SWE) is committed to acknowledging the accomplishments of women engineers, and members also participate in outreach programs for college, school children of all ages and young women engineers.

Congratulate a Women in Shipbuilding Enterprise Award Recipient.

Award recipients will be honored at the WISE signature event at the end of the month, and nominee names will be posted on the IngallsConnect App and monitors throughout the shipyard.

Ingalls Shipbuilding and HII are stronger together because of your commitment to acknowledge and celebrate the different backgrounds of your fellow shipbuilders. In 2022, the company is celebrating diversity and encouraging everyone to do so by treating each other with respect, dignity and fairness. You help us get the job done, and you matter. You BELONG.
