With eight years behind him as a shipbuilder, Pipe foreman Jamario Cole is already helping shape culture and leadership in the shipyard.
Shipbuilders are encouraged to revisit our summer programs landing page – a convenient way to explore local camps, activities and educational opportunities for your children before registration deadlines pass.
Today, on National Firefighter Appreciation Day, we’re proud to recognize the incredible Ingalls firefighters who keep our shipyard safe every day.
Thank you to every shipbuilder who volunteered, walked or donated in support of this year’s Jackson County Heart Walk. Your commitment helps advance the life‑saving research and resources that make a real difference for families in our community and across our shipyard.
Central Planning’s annual Family Day brought the team together for a great afternoon of softball, food and family fun. It was a meaningful chance to connect outside the workplace, strengthen relationships and build engagement across the department. Thanks to everyone who joined and helped make the day special!
We’re excited to highlight our April Vanguard class—another group of foremen committed to growth and excellence. Designed for new foremen, the Vanguard program equips participants with practical training and resources to strengthen their leadership, reinforce safety, and elevate how their crews work together.
Congratulations to our shipbuilders who completed the Blue Economy Leadership Certificate (BELC) Program. Shipbuilders strengthened their leadership capabilities as the sessions focused on engagement, mentoring, building trust and managing change. Their growth plays an important role in strengthening leadership throughout the shipyard.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to advance, every shipbuilder deserves a clear path to grow. Career counseling sessions are available to support you every step of the way.
At the next Culture Connector professional development session, hear from Ingalls President Brian Blanchette on his leadership philosophy. Learn how every decision, task and ship we deliver must be intentional with integrity and purpose. Attendees will gain tools to create their own leadership philosophy.
Surrounded by family who have worn the uniform and family who have built the ships that protect them, Roderick found his place in a craft that ties all those pieces together. He’s built a path defined by pride, purpose and caring for the people he works with every day. During this conversation, Roderick shares what led him to the shipyard and why the mission means so much to him.
The first Shipbuilder Resource Showcase of the year saw a strong turnout as shipbuilders explored the many programs and people ready to support them at Ingalls. From benefits to support services like HERO and Ethics, shipbuilders connected with experts from across the company. As a program of Culture Connectors, the event made it easy to ask questions, build connections and find resources that can make both work and life a little smoother.
The work happening at Ingalls matters now more than ever. Ingalls Town Halls connect the work you do to that mission.
Caring for the whole family means supporting mind, body, and balance—and your HII benefits are here to help you do just that. Discover how these resources can support you and your loved ones at every stage of life.
Shipbuilders are invited to spend the morning with us on Friday, April 17, for our annual volunteer day at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center (PRAC).
Our Ingalls Champions were honored to welcome the families and loved ones of our remarkable apprentices as they celebrated their graduation. We’re grateful to all the volunteers whose dedication and teamwork helped make this event truly special.
Congratulations to our March Frontline Leaders (FLL) class participants! FLL equips shipbuilders stepping into leadership roles with the skills and resources needed to grow and lead effectively. Participants learn how to make a meaningful impact on their teams with a strong focus on communication, relationship‑building, and more!
Shipbuilding is ever evolving, and Julie McDonald is at the forefront of that transformation. By introducing advanced 3D scanning and pushing for digital innovation, she’s redefining how Ingalls supports the Navy fleet.
On February 12, twenty-five students from Pascagoula High School, Resurrection Catholic School, and local home schools visited Ingalls Shipbuilding to learn about our work and explore career paths. Several students whose parents are current shipbuilders shared their perspectives on the significance of the work their parents do each day. These students are part of the Pascagoula Mayor’s Youth Council – a program designed to connect young leaders with industry professionals and give them a behind-the-scenes look at opportunities in their city.
A partnership between Ingalls, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC), the Navy and Accelerate Mississippi laid the groundwork for how we train shipbuilders for years to come. The virtual reality welding lab facility on the East Bank provides a way for shipbuilders perfect their skills using their tools.
We were proud to host the 2026 Leadership Jackson County class during their Industry Day. The group enjoyed a morning of conversation and a windshield tour of the shipyard – gaining insight into the innovation and craftsmanship behind our work. We’re honored to play a role in shaping future leaders of Jackson County.

The Shipbuilder Engagement Team supports all shipbuilders. Through efforts like Culture Connectors, Ingalls Champions and employee resource groups (ERGs), the team fosters a workplace where shipbuilders can thrive, grow and enjoy their work.
