Shipbuilders joined forces with Chevron and Mississippi Power to make a big impact at the Pascagoula River Audubon Center (PRAC)—a nature center dedicated to preserving local ecosystems and inspiring environmental education. PRAC plays a vital role in connecting the community to the unique natural beauty of coastal Mississippi, and the volunteer work directly supports its mission.
From laying sod and pavers to revamping the front entrance with fresh flowers, volunteers helped transform the space. The team also cleaned out the Boy Scout hut, removed invasive species, and spread mulch throughout the playground and under their large oak tree—leaving the grounds refreshed and ready for visitors.
Our Contracts & Pricing team led the charge for this volunteer opportunity and rallied together shipbuilders to serve our community. “There’s value in showing up. We’re here, making connections with each other and the center, giving something back to the community. It’s tangible,” said Stephen Fitts, Vice President of Contracts & Pricing.
