June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month — a time to reflect on the importance of brain health and honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. At Ingalls Shipbuilding, this message hits close to home. Every year, we ask shipbuilders: What matters to you? For many, the answer is family, connection, and the memories that shape us.
For the fourth consecutive year, Ingalls Shipbuilding will be sponsoring free admission to the Two Mississippi Museums in honor of Juneteenth, a federal holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. From Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22, you and your family have the opportunity to explore both the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, giving the opportunity to engage in storytelling tied to significant moments in our nation’s history. Visit the app to read more about the museum’s story and how you can visit.
The month of May is a time that invites us to reflect on the values of service, sacrifice, and community - as shipbuilders, we understand the importance of all three. One powerful way to live those values is by giving blood—an act that directly supports those in crisis.
