Shipbuilders, here’s your chance to make a meaningful difference for our four-legged neighbors! September 1 through September 12, we’re collecting much-needed supplies for the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Gautier, which cares for hundreds of cats and dogs each year. Remember—donating one can of pet food truly CAN make a difference.
Ingalls is proud to continue supporting this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, taking place on Saturday, October 4 at Point Cadet in Biloxi. This event brings together families, caregivers, and advocates across the Gulf Coast to raise awareness and support for the Alzheimer’s Association—an organization dedicated to advancing research, providing care and support, and giving hope to the millions impacted by this disease.
With fall just around the corner, it’s the perfect season to step outside and enjoy outdoor activities that bring awareness to our health and create real impact. Whether it’s walking alongside a team, volunteering at an event or contributing through fundraising, every action makes a difference.

Ingalls shipbuilders are leading the way in community volunteerism. Do you volunteer at your church or coach a youth athletic team? Do you lead a scout troop or take part in neighborhood or beach clean-up efforts? Do you serve on an organization board or committee? Do you help plan or participate in your department’s charitable fundraisers or ERG events? We want to know!
The Big Picture: We’re making it easier for shipbuilders to connect with local support by bringing trusted organizations on-site each month.
June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month — a time to reflect on the importance of brain health and honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. At Ingalls Shipbuilding, this message hits close to home. Every year, we ask shipbuilders: What matters to you? For many, the answer is family, connection, and the memories that shape us.
For the fourth consecutive year, Ingalls Shipbuilding will be sponsoring free admission to the Two Mississippi Museums in honor of Juneteenth, a federal holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. From Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22, you and your family have the opportunity to explore both the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, giving the opportunity to engage in storytelling tied to significant moments in our nation’s history. Visit the app to read more about the museum’s story and how you can visit.
The month of May is a time that invites us to reflect on the values of service, sacrifice, and community - as shipbuilders, we understand the importance of all three. One powerful way to live those values is by giving blood—an act that directly supports those in crisis.
Despite the rain, Ingalls shipbuilders stepped up and showed their support for the Jackson County Heart Walk this past Saturday—proving that a little weather cannot dampen our drive to give and raise awareness for heart disease and stroke.
Ingalls Shipbuilding was recognized Thursday with a 2025 Governor’s Initiative for Volunteer Excellence (GIVE) award presented by Volunteer Mississippi in partnership with the Office of the Mississippi Governor.
