The ongoing facility freeze plan will have continued impacts to the yard, affecting 1st shift production shipbuilders who report directly to Operations. As a precaution specific to those who operate in these production areas, 1st shift will be canceled on Wednesday, January 17, for all represented production shipbuilders who report directly to operations only. All other shipbuilders will report as normal. Temperatures are expected to remain cold and areas of the region will be impacted differently. If you have specific concerns, please contact your supervisor directly.
With concern for shipbuilder safety and the continued freezing temperatures, Ingalls is canceling 2nd shift for Tuesday, January 16. The shipyard will remain operational for essential personnel and those completing the facility freeze plan. We will continue to evaluate conditions and plan to send additional communications out this afternoon. Please exercise caution and good judgement. Your safety remains a critical priority.

Ingalls Shipbuilding is monitoring the path of Hurricane Idalia in the Gulf of Mexico and will provide updates as available. As of Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, Idalia is forecast to become a major hurricane and make a Florida landfall by Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023. Until more details are available, take this time to make sure you are prepared and have a plan in place in the event this storm becomes a threat to our area.

Per CDC guidance, Ingalls Shipbuilding will no longer be required to collect and contact trace COVID-19 cases. Today, September 30, the Ingalls Medical department will disconnect the nurse call line and will discontinue the daily collection of COVID-19 cases. This means that the COVID-19 phone line and response email address will no longer be active as of October 1.

As hurricane season begins this week, please be prepared.
