March of the Mayors | Join the fight against hunger

Ingalls Shipbuilding serves as the regional sponsor of Extra Table’s March of the Mayors, a continued commitment to food security in our communities. Join us through the month of February to collect food, volunteer and fight food insecurity. As we continue to be inspired by the success of the “Extra Full” event, we hope that shipbuilders see their contributions and volunteer efforts as vital pieces to our community and to its success in combatting hunger.

Ingalls in the Community | Shipbuilders pack 10,000+ meals for Extra Full

Recently, Ingalls led the effort alongside local leaders and community members to pack more than 10,000 meal kits of red beans and rice. These kits, designed to serve four people a hot meal, will be distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens across South Mississippi, ensuring access to nutritious meals for those in need.

On Thursday, November 14, Ingalls Shipbuilding welcomed eight Mayors Youth Council programs from across the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a day of learning, networking, and inspiration. The event brought together 92 students and 14 council advisors from the cities of Long Beach, Gulfport, D’Iberville, Ocean Springs, Gautier, Pascagoula, Moss Point, and Lucedale.

This year, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation celebrates 35 years of service to the community. Julie Gresham, vice president, Chief Counsel, serves as chairman of the organization’s board. The Gulf Coast Community Foundation promotes charitable giving by managing millions of dollars for numerous scholarships and funds that directly impact the lives of Gulf Coast residents. This year, a new fund in honor of long-time GCCF champion Roger Wilder was established to support causes that provide programming for children in our community.
