Volunteer Opportunity: Supporting Food Security in Our Community
On January 30, we invite shipbuilders to join us for a volunteer event that will help support the fight against hunger. As part of this ongoing commitment to our community, Ingalls is proud to serve as a regional sponsor of March of the Mayors, a month-long effort focused on raising awareness and taking action to address hunger in our communities.
Ingalls Shipbuilders Help Pack Meals for Food Pantries
Shipbuilders continue to show up in big ways – especially during the holiday season. Ingalls worked alongside Chevron and Extra Table at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Pascagoula as volunteers packed 12,000 pounds of sweet potatoes and over 6,000 pounds of rice. The rice alone will help cover over 80,000 meals for local food pantries and families in our community.
Ingalls Hosts Annual Day of Giving Event

Leadership Mississippi Visits Ingalls

Students from across Mississippi got the opportunity to see the mission-critical work we do at Ingalls firsthand during a recent visit to the shipyard. The Mississippi Youth Leadership Program, which consists of 45 students and is led by Secretary of State Michael Watson, had the opportunity to tour Ingalls and learn about the magnitude of work being done here.

On Saturday, September 27, shipbuilders joined hundreds of walkers at Jones Park in Gulfport for the 2025 Gulf Coast Heart Walk — a morning filled with sunshine, smiles, and support for heart health.
Ingalls Cares | Shipbuilders donate food, supplies to animal shelter
Over the past two weeks, shipbuilders came together to support animals in need—collecting nearly 250 pounds of kibble, more than 100 cans of wet food, plus towels, cleaning supplies, treats, and toys for the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Celebrate Juneteenth | Free visit to the Two Mississippi Museums
For the fourth consecutive year, Ingalls Shipbuilding will be sponsoring free admission to the Two Mississippi Museums in honor of Juneteenth, a federal holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. From Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22, you and your family have the opportunity to explore both the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, giving the opportunity to engage in storytelling tied to significant moments in our nation’s history.
