The Shipbuilder Engagement Team invited current Ingalls Champions and newcomers to SS Exchequer to share some of the exciting things coming up this year for the volunteer program.
With the christening of Harrisburg (LPD 30) in January, Ingalls Champions hit the ground running, giving guests an unforgettable experience. This program is a great way to network and get involved in a variety of events.
“I haven’t been with the company for long, but I’m at a point where I’m excited to contribute to programs like Ingalls Champions,” said Elijah Sylvester-Price, welder. “I find joy in giving back so I’m looking forward to being a part of this program and having a positive impact in the community.”
Ingalls Champions is a volunteer program which gives shipbuilders the opportunity to support special events and create memorable experiences. Volunteers are able to get a “behind the scenes” look at events, like christenings and Family Day, giving them an opportunity to network with other shipbuilders from across Ingalls. This collective effort helps shine a light on the hard work our shipbuilders do each day and ensures seamless events for our guests.
