Milestone events can’t happen without teamwork. Christening the future USS Harrisburg (LPD 30) was a huge success thanks to the Ingalls Champions dedicating their time to give guests an unforgettable event! Over 30 volunteers assisted in a variety of roles including bus captains, greeters, parking attendants and more!
“I love volunteering at the christenings! From working with my fellow shipbuilders to being in the action, there are so many things that make me happy about volunteering,” said Jasmine Adams, administration generalist, Supply Chain Management. “Plus, I have an important role in a tradition that has been going on for decades. I think all shipbuilders should volunteer at least once to get that experience. I have been volunteering for 10 years now and it is still something that I enjoy doing.”
Ingalls Champions is a volunteer program which gives you the opportunity to support special events and create memorable experiences. Volunteers will get a “behind the scenes” experience of these events, giving them an opportunity to network with other shipbuilders. This is a collective effort to shine a light on the hard work our shipbuilders do each day.
