Zero is the place to be when it comes to fires, injuries or any incident that could harm our shipbuilders, ships or shipyard. This quarter, you will see an increased emphasis on fire safety.

From hot work attire to being safe while using a torch to preventing fires by being more aware of your surroundings, we will zero in on different aspects of fire safety to create a culture of education, awareness and accountability.

Every weld, every spark and every piece of machinery in the shipyard carries the potential for both progress and risk. In this environment, it’s crucial that we all play a pivotal role in preventing fire hazards. By fostering a culture of fire safety, we protect each other and the ships we build.

This quarter, blue banners have been placed throughout the shipyard to serve as a constant  reminder that fire safety is each of our responsibilities. In addition, we will spotlight different teams who work hard each day to practice fire safety.

Our commitment to fire safety is not just a directive; it’s a pledge to prioritize the well-being of ourselves and our fellow shipbuilders.

Thank you for your dedication to creating a workplace that is safe. Keeping each other and the work we do safe is critical to our mission to build world-class ships. We need you. Your loved ones need you.

Zero fires. Zero injuries. Zero damages. Zero compromise.
