My Fellow Shipbuilders,
As part of our continuing efforts to provide a safe workplace, including our efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic, we are continuing to work closely with state and local agencies and Singing River Health System to create opportunities to make the vaccine available for our employees.
Consistent with applicable guidelines and availability, Singing River has been able to assist in administering vaccinations, on site, to Ingalls employees 65 and older. Following the second dose of the vaccine, many of our 65+ shipbuilders expressed enthusiasm for being able to obtain the vaccine.
As you know, the demand for the COVID-19 vaccine is high, and we will continue to stay in close contact with the state and local providers who oversee its distribution, including Singing River, who currently provides our testing services and who will continue to manage the on-site vaccination program as more doses become available.
In the meantime, shipbuilders are encouraged to get the vaccine when and wherever the opportunity presents itself. The infographic below provides guidance on how to contact the health care teams currently providing vaccines in MS, AL and LA.
