In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the African American Shipbuilders Association (AASA) employee resource group followed his vision of solidarity to strengthen the local communities they call home. AASA supplied meals to more than 500 families in the Moss Point area at their annual food distribution event. A stronger community starts with collaboration and compassion, and this event highlights shipbuilders going beyond their craft to make a meaningful impact.
“Participating in the MLK Food drive filled me with a sense of pride and purpose,” said Daniel Barrymore, manager, Design Engineering. “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the change he envisioned for the world, and taking part in this event allowed me to be part of the change he dreamed about.”
