With her husband’s experience of 25 years as a shipbuilder, Kimberly Johnson, project manager, Human Resources & Administration, has a heightened appreciation for those who build these world-class vessels.
“I’m a part of an amazing team who celebrate and serve our hardworking shipbuilders,” said Kimberly. “Everyone needs to know that they matter, are seen and heard.”
As a Culture Connector, Kimberly bridges the gap between shipbuilders and the resources available to them. In her three years with the company, Kimberly has found her purpose in guiding shipbuilders toward success in and outside of the yard.
“I want each person I connect with to know I am here to help them and they belong,” said Kimberly. “I believe it is important to be positive, encourage others and let people know they are carrying out a bigger purpose than they realize.”
Kimberly’s favorite memories at Ingalls include shipbuilders sharing their wealth of knowledge and experiences with her.
“I am truly blessed to have shipbuilders like George Ray, Jimmy Fields and Rob Wise in my life who invest their time with me,” said Kimberly. “I love that there’s no shortage of knowledge here. To quote Jim Bennett, I am a product from those around me who have taken the time to share with me.”
