Winning the Right Way means speaking up when something isn’t right. Every shipbuilder has a role in building a culture where people are treated with integrity, respect and dignity.
Ethics is more than following rules. It’s making the right choice, even when it’s uncomfortable. It’s looking out for each other and taking action when something doesn’t align with our values: Integrity, Respect, Safety, Engagement, Performance, Responsibility.
Together, these values help us build trust and create a workplace where everyone can do their best work.
Speaking up is each of our Responsibility and can sometimes mean addressing behavior that doesn’t belong in our workplace. For example:
SCENARIO: A shipbuilder walking across the yard hears whistles and catcalls directed toward her. She keeps moving, but the behavior makes her feel singled out and uncomfortable.
WHAT IT MEANS: Comments, gestures or actions that disrespect others can damage trust and create an environment where people don’t feel valued or safe. Ignoring these behaviors allows them to continue.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you see or experience something that doesn’t align with our values, speak up. Check in with a teammate, step in when appropriate or report the concern through the right channels. Every shipbuilder has a responsibility to help create a workplace built on respect.
Don’t Ignore It. Report It.
