Organizational Announcement | Quality & Engineering
I am pleased to announce the selection of Amanda Whitaker as the Director of Quality Assurance, where she will lead strategy to strengthen governance of quality processes and tools, product integrity at receipt inspection, and advance continuous improvement across the organization. Partnering closely with Engineering, Quality Inspection, Supply Chain, Program Management and Operations, Amanda will ensure alignment with customer expectations, support technical reviews and audits, and provide leadership to quality assurance teams to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and ownership for overall process performance.
Amanda brings 18 years of experience as an Ingalls shipbuilder, having served in Logistics, Engineering and Quality before advancing into program leadership. Most recently, she served as DDG 1000 Program Manager, where she ensured cost, schedule and technical performance while serving as the primary customer interface. Her deep program insight and proven record of cross‑functional leadership make her exceptionally well‑suited for this role.
Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Alabama, a Master of Science in Logistics from The University of Southern Mississippi and is a Certified Professional Logistician.
Her leadership and experience will continue to strengthen our programs and support the success of our shipbuilders and customers. Please join me in congratulating Amanda on this new role.
