Ingalls is proud to celebrate all of our current and former apprentices who are learning, leading and shaping the future of shipbuilding.
National Apprenticeship Week is April 26 through May 2. The theme — America at Work: Making America Skilled Again — reflects what our apprentices do every day.
“The future of shipbuilding depends on craftsmen and women who care deeply about their work,” said Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Blanchette. “Our Navy is counting on them.”
Since 1952, the Ingalls Apprentice School has graduated more than 4,000 shipbuilders and continues to support over 750 students in 15 skilled trades. These apprentices earn competitive wages, receive full benefits early in their training and contribute directly to the ships our fleet depends on.
To all current and former apprentices — and to every mentor and instructor who helps guide them — THANK YOU. You are the foundation of Ingalls, and we’re proud to celebrate you this week and every week.
