Students from across Mississippi got the opportunity to see the mission-critical work we do at Ingalls firsthand during a recent visit to the shipyard. The Mississippi Youth Leadership Program, which consists of 45 students and is led by Secretary of State Michael Watson, had the opportunity to tour Ingalls and learn about the magnitude of work being done here.
As the son of an Ingalls pipefitter and a native of Pascagoula, Watson was able to share his own personal experience with the group, emphasizing how important Ingalls shipbuilders are to our nation’s defense and to the state’s economy. The students also visited Chevron Refinery while in Pascagoula.
We are honored to showcase the skill of our shipbuilders and help grow Mississippi’s next generation of leaders.
