Organizational Announcement
After more than 25 years of dedicated service, Scott Weldon, Vice President of Supply Chain Management, has announced his intent to retire in January 2026.
Throughout his tenure, Scott has been instrumental in advancing Ingalls’ supply chain operations, leading strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory control, and material warehousing.
Joining the company in 1998, Scott held numerous leadership positions in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, and Finance including business manager on multiple U.S. Navy and commercial programs, including LPD, LHA and LHD amphibious assault ships, DDG 51 destroyers, Sealift, AMCV and the Polar Tanker program; and as the director of finance and accounting and later as Chief Procurement Officer.

Succeeding Scott, I am pleased to announce that Stephen Fitts, currently serving as Vice President of Contracts and Pricing, will assume the role of Vice President of Supply Chain Management.
In his current role, Stephen and his team have been responsible for contract award and administration, estimating and pricing, and export/import licensing and compliance. Since 2013, Stephen has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and business expertise through various roles, including director of contracts administration and senior counsel, bringing with him a depth of experience in working with businesses on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama. Prior to joining HII, he served as an equity partner in private practice.
