The last resource showcase of the year provided a space for shipbuilders to get connected with benefits and career growth opportunities. As a program of Culture Connectors, this event is a great way for shipbuilders to ask questions and receive information about resources available to them.
While ice cream was distributed at the event, the real treat was the opportunity for shipbuilders to have impactful conversations.
"Knowledge is power. I’ve been here for four years, and events like this are invaluable for raising awareness about what’s available,” said Crystal Brown, electrician. “This is especially helpful for new shipbuilders having all the information in one place.”
Access to professional development tools is one of many benefits to the resource showcase. Shipbuilders had the opportunity to jumpstart what’s next for their careers.
“With my passion for career counseling, I have the joy to share many tools, services and groups that Ingalls provides to help shipbuilders further their career,” said Kimberly Johnson, project management, Human Resources & Administration (HR&A). My purpose in life is to serve others while letting them know they are seen, and they matter.”
