The Culture Connector Service Committee teamed with Community Relations to donate hundreds of school supplies to students in the Moss Point School District. Shipbuilders donated packs of paper, pencils, and also volunteered to distribute supplies at the Back to School rally.
Porchia Hunt, Laborer, Ship Cleaners, said, “I’m from Moss Point and I have a child who is in the Moss Point School District. Giving back to this community means everything to me. By being a part of this event, I met some interesting and really nice people. It was exactly what I expected.”
We also heard from Leernest Drummond, Designer, Engineering, who said, “I love giving back to the people in the community and being able to help the kids. I want them to do their best and succeed. Times are hard right now, and people are truly grateful for the assistance.”
