THE BIG PICTURE: USS Cole (DDG 67), an Ingalls-built destroyer, arrived in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for a brief fuel stop on June 11, 2025.

  • The ship is operating under U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet

BECAUSE OF YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS: DDG 67 is supporting maritime operations that strengthen security and cooperation with partner nations across the region.

OPERATION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Port visit in Guantanamo Bay as part of a broader deployment
  • Working alongside Caribbean, Central and South American maritime forces
  • Supporting unity, stability and regional security through trusted partnerships

HOW IT RELATES TO YOU:

  • USS Cole (DDG 67) was built at Ingalls and christened in 1995
    • Severely damaged in 2000 during a terrorist attack and brought back to Ingalls for repairs
    • Shipbuilders watched the ship return – a somber and powerful moment –  then restored her with care, precision and pride
    • Sailed away from Ingalls a second time in 2002, ready to rejoin the fleet and once again defend our nation
