Please join me in welcoming Steve Chambers to the Ingalls Infrastructure & Sustainability team as the Director of Emergency Operations & Security. In his role, Steve will oversee all security operations, leading a team of professionals in physical and logistical security, as well as crisis and emergency management, insider threat prevention and industrial security management.
With a collaborative leadership style, Steve is committed to supporting decision-making at all levels. He looks forward to working with our shipbuilders to strengthen security across Ingalls, ensuring a safe workplace as we continue to build strong, safe ships.
Beginning his career as a police officer in the Chicago area, Steve has more than 28 years of law enforcement experience, which includes investigative leadership roles domestically and internationally for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He has also worked in France at the office of the Legal Attaché in the U.S. Embassy and at Interpol in Lyon on various criminal and national security investigations.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies and a Master of Science in Managerial Leadership. Throughout his career, he has received multiple commendations, including being named the 2020 Federal Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for the Southern District of Mississippi.
