Ingalls is proud to celebrate its apprentices this week for National Apprenticeship Week, which runs from Nov. 14-20.

The Ingalls Apprentice School is recognized as the backbone of a well-trained workforce. Every effort is made to provide each apprentice with opportunities to learn all the phases of a selected craft. This is done by job rotation, a system that allows the apprentice to perform in the various job assignments within the particular craft.

The apprenticeship program allows people to earn competitive wages and receive comprehensive benefit packages while they learn their shipbuilding craft. Several apprentice graduates have gone on to build careers at Ingalls, rising to positions of leadership in the company.

The City of Pascagoula and the Jackson County Board of Supervisors have each issued proclamations in honor of Ingalls apprentices and National Apprenticeship Week.

Thank you to all current and former apprentices for your hard work and dedication!
