Cindy Quigley, Information Technology Director, began her journey at Ingalls more than 15 years ago when she came to work here as a contractor. It didn’t take her long to realize that Ingalls was where she wanted to be long-term.

After taking a full-time position with Ingalls, she worked in various roles, serving as a business relationship manager and in network support. Now, Quigley is an IT director over application development and maintenance.

“There are lots of opportunities for people at all skill levels here at Ingalls,” said Quigley.

Embracing technology and seeking out opportunities for transformation is the advice Quigley gives to anyone looking to grow their career in IT.

“How can we use technology in order to move the business forward? There are opportunities here for people who have those ideas,” she said.

The biggest advice Quigley offers to anyone looking to grow their career at Ingalls, no matter what field they work in, is to be willing to learn from others. One of the best ways to do that is by meeting other shipbuilders.

“I think one of the very important things of growing a career at Ingalls is networking and learning from others, whether it's within your discipline or outside of your discipline,” said Quigley. “One great way to do that is through ERGs. I think those are fantastic opportunities to network.”

For Quigley, it’s about the people and the opportunities Ingalls has to help shipbuilders grow in whatever field they work.

“To me, Ingalls really stands out from other companies because the people here truly care about each other,” she said. “They genuinely care about their peers and their community. I think that's one of the foundational building blocks of our culture at Ingalls.”

A big part of the culture at Ingalls aims to inspire shipbuilders to grow by helping them develop their talents and leadership abilities through various programs.

“We have a lot of programs in place to help you network with others, learn more about the business, learn more about different areas, and become aware of what opportunities are available,” said Quigley. “Ingalls also has a great development program for their leaders. That's something I feel sets them apart from other companies. They really care about their people and they really have some good programs in place to help develop their leadership.”
