REMINDER: You may be eligible for a reimbursement.

Complete the CARES Act COVID-19 Reimbursement Survey and provide appropriate documentation before June 20, 2021.

This week’s most frequently asked questions:

  1. I want to take the survey but I didn’t receive, or can’t locate, the EY letter with my unique passcode. What do I do?

If you have not received a letter and believe you should have, or have misplaced your letter, contact the EY Help Desk between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET, Monday – Friday, at 833-968-0936 to request access to the survey. EY will ask questions to validate your identity before providing you with a passcode.

  1. Where can I find the types of paid leave included in the survey, or examples of when paid leave would be related to COVID-19 under the CARES Act?

For more information about the types of paid leave included in the survey, examples of when your paid leave would be related to COVID-19 under the CARES Act, or where to find appropriate documentation to submit with your survey, refer to the “Documentation Resources” section on the HII CARES Act Paid Leave Survey webpage.

  1. I’m having trouble finding the documentation to submit with my survey. Can you point me in the right direction?

Refer to the “Documentation Resources” section on the HII CARES Act Paid Leave Survey webpage for information and tips for locating documentation.

The survey must be accessed and completed using a personal device or computer. If you elect to not participate in the survey, there will be no chance at potential reimbursement.

As part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, HII is preparing to submit a request for reimbursement for COVID-19-related leave costs, which includes hours that employees took from their individual paid leave account balances for COVID-19-related reasons. If the government approves HII’s request, and the company receives reimbursement for leave costs it paid to employees, those employees will be eligible for reimbursement of their paid leave. If the government denies the company’s request, employees and the company will not receive reimbursement.

To determine if employee paid leave qualifies for reimbursement, HII has engaged a private accounting firm, Ernst & Young (EY), to conduct a survey. HII employees who took paid leave from March 15, 2020 through March 28, 2021 should have received a letter in the mail from EY with a unique passcode and instructions on how to access and complete the survey. If you did not receive a letter and believe that you should have, or have misplaced your letter, contact the EY Help Desk between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET, Monday – Friday, at +1 833-968-0936 to request access. The survey, which will be open through June 20, 2021, is voluntary, and if an employee elects to not participate, they will not be eligible for reimbursement.

This does not apply to short-term disability payments, quarantine pay, special COVID-19 sick time, or sick leave covered by the Family First Coronavirus Response Act.
