Fellow Shipbuilders,

Over the last 83 years, the people of Ingalls Shipbuilding have built a legacy filled with remarkable successes.

Together, we and those who came before us have overcome significant unforeseen challenges, and yet have continued to carry out mission-critical work while maintaining high standards of quality and a steadfast commitment to one another as teammates.

I am honored to be a part of these extraordinary times with you, working for an organization with purpose and a critical mission for the nation. We have much to be grateful for, and we have a strong backlog of work ahead of us.

This week, we depart for the long Easter break under very different circumstances than we did last year. As the COVID-19 vaccine has become widely available and cases of the virus continue to decline, we are focused on overcoming this challenge as well.

We have already achieved several milestones this year, but we have much to accomplish together before the year is out. As always, with this comes our fierce commitment to the safety of our team and our customers and a level of quality that demonstrates a commitment to our craft.

Every day we each make choices – to come to work, to work hard and to take care of ourselves, our families and our fellow shipbuilders. I hope you will keep coming to work each day energized by our important mission and ready to perform your best work while maintaining the highest standards in safety and quality. We have an incredible legacy to continue, and I am filled with pride and sense of community as we move forward together.

Thank you for your dedication, your hard work, and for being a part of this team. I hope this weekend you will take time to relax and enjoy some much deserved time off. We have so much to look forward to as we start this next chapter together.

Sincerely,

Kari Wilkinson

President, Ingalls Shipbuilding
