The safety of the workforce is Ingalls’ top priority. The addition of a no-drive time during 2nd shift departure will enhance the safety of workers departing from their shift.

“We’re making this change to better protect our employees, contractors, customers and visitors,” said David Glynn, director of Environmental Health and Safety. “This change will ensure our workers can safely travel from their work areas to the gates at the end of their shift.”

The “no-drive” period will continue to apply to all rolling stock including, but not limited to:

•          All motor vehicles, whether company-owned or personal

•          Mules and golf carts

•          Bicycles and tricycles

•          Forklifts, cranes, groves, straddle carriers, etc.

Company shuttle buses and emergency vehicles (fire, security and medical) are exempt from the no-drive period.
