All-hands meetings are about sharing important information, recognizing achievements and aligning on company goals and priorities. Shipbuilders in Contracts & Pricing (C&P) put their own spin on the traditional touchpoint by hosting a fall carnival.
“Our goal is to keep the team engaged through a fun event to celebrate team accomplishments and department milestones,” said Kimberly Nettles, contracts administrator. “This also serves as a refresher to connect with our team.”
The event featured festive activities like cornhole, mini golf, Connect Four and much more. QuadMed also provided gifts to the winners of the carnival games.
Current C&P Vice President Stephen Fitts, who will assume the role of Supply Chain Management Vice President in January, also addressed the team at the event. In addition to reviewing major 2025 achievements for the department, the leadership torch was passed to Danny Marks. Ingalls President Brian Blanchette also attended and spoke on his 2026 vision for the company.
“We aimed to create a meeting that shipbuilders looked forward to attending instead of viewing it as just another obligation,” Sarah Johnson, contract administration manager. “As shipbuilders take part in event planning or engage in team-building activities, we are cultivating a positive culture where they feel valued and excited about both their work and their workplace.”
While the traditional meeting format is undoubtedly important, it’s equally essential to incorporate fun elements that boost morale, reduce stress and enhance retention. This not only enriches the meeting experience but also strengthens the sense of community, creating a more enjoyable place to thrive.
