New hires in Supply Chain Management (SCM) enjoyed a more focused approach at the department’s Meet & Greet, which is designed to introduce new hires to leaders, tools and expectations within their new work environment.

“The SCM new hire event was welcoming and informative. It’s great to see leadership value and support shipbuilders,” said Natalie Geiser, procurement planning control representative. “After being in the shipyard for 10 years, I’m excited to see what the future holds in the department.”

Shipbuilders were welcomed by SCM Vice President Scott Weldon, who shared insight into the team's mission, current priorities and the role new talent has in the future success of Ingalls. New hires also enjoyed a panel discussion featuring management as they discussed career paths and daily operations.

“The engaging sessions made the information incredibly valuable,” said Frederick Thompson, procurement analyst. “The giveaways and other nice gestures also made this event a great experience.”

This event was a great way for new shipbuilders to learn about the benefits and resources available to them, as well as to network with peers and leaders in Supply Chain.

“It was an opportunity to actively participate, learn and connect with others,” said Shamiracle Loftin, procurement planning control representative. “The engaging, hands-on activities made the event enjoyable and set new hires up for success.”
