Shipbuilders,

As we approach the Fourth of July, I want to thank you for the work you do, the pride you carry and the mission you serve.

Around the world, we’re watching the cost of freedom play out in real time. Conflict, instability and rising threats make it clear: the security we enjoy here at home depends on the strength and readiness of our military. And that depends on us.

What we do every day directly supports the service members who stand between peace and danger. There is no insignificant job at Ingalls — every person here helps our military defend this country and come home safely.

In times like these, it’s more important than ever that we take a step back, look at the bigger picture and recognize the magnitude of what we do. Shipbuilding is more than any one job. It’s service. It’s sacrifice. It’s doing what’s right for the warfighter because THEIR mission is OUR purpose.

I hope you take a moment over this holiday weekend to reflect on your service to the United States of America and I hope it fills you with pride for what you do, what you build and the freedom it helps protect.

Wishing you a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July. Thank you for all you do.

Brian Blanchette

President, Ingalls Shipbuilding
