Hurricane season is here and each of us have a role in ensuring we stay safe. Ingalls prepares all year to protect what matters most: our people, our ships and our future. Every shipbuilder plays a part in that mission, and it starts with being ready before storms ever form.
Leadership in Action: Ingalls’ leadership team met to review and refine heavy weather plans across the shipyard. Their goal: to ensure we’re doing everything possible to keep shipbuilders and our ships safe in the event of a storm. By strengthening procedures and collaborating across departments, they reinforced our shared responsibility to protect one another and left the meeting with a renewed sense of unity and readiness.
Why Preparation Matters: Tropical systems can develop quickly and take unpredictable turns. When shipbuilders are prepared, we reduce risk, increase safety and maintain focus. Peace of mind comes from preparation.
What Ingalls Does & How We Support You: Ingalls has a robust heavy weather plan that activates long before a storm reaches the Gulf. We monitor weather systems from the moment they form and evaluate each one carefully. Your safety is our top priority, and we’ve invested in resources to keep you informed and supported.
Your Role Is Essential: We all have a part to play in hurricane readiness. Small steps now lead to big peace of mind later. Here’s what you can do this week:
