Large-scale emergencies are rare — and we hope they stay that way but when they do happen, being prepared ensures we protect our people and the ships we build.

The Big Picture: We’re building a vetted roster of shipbuilders with certified experience in emergency response to support incident command when every second counts.

Why It Matters: Our emergency teams lead the response, but large-scale events may need immediate support from trained shipbuilders already on-site.

  • Swift, coordinated action is essential in fire, medical or environmental incidents
  • Your training could make a difference

Who We Need: Shipbuilders with current certifications or verified military experience:

  • Medical professionals (EMTs, nurses, paramedics)
  • Fire/hazmat responders
  • Military personnel with relevant training

What You’ll Do: Not a firefighter, but a force multiplier — you may:

  • Provide triage

  • Support communications

  • Assist with logistics

What to Know:

  • This is a standby role activated only in rare emergencies and always under the direction of emergency leadership
  • All certifications must be current and verifiable
  • Military experience should be documented with a DD250 and relevant endorsements
