Every career is a journey and professional development is the map that helps teams reach their full potential. Human Resources & Administration (HR&A) has joined forces with the Shipbuilder Engagement team to produce quality professional development workshops.

“Continuous learning is a key to success in shipbuilding,” said John Sullivan, director, Talent Management. “These sessions give shipbuilders an opportunity to learn in the flow of our work from experts across the company.”

The first two workshops were a huge success, covering topics like workplace etiquette and breaking silos by mastering interdepartmental communications. With more workshops on the way, there’s something for all shipbuilders to learn from.

“With our shared focus on learning, development and leadership, we’re strengthening our culture and driving innovation in how we work and grow,” said Jakavious Pickett, manager, Shipbuilder Engagement.

The two departments share a commitment to delivering impactful professional development workshops to empower the workforce. By combining their strengths and expertise, the teams are creating meaningful career opportunities.

“The HR&A team loves to collaborate with the Shipbuilder Engagement team to help as many shipbuilders as we can learn and grow,” said John.

The partnership between Shipbuilder Engagement and HR&A is key to building not just ships, but a skilled and resilient workforce,” said Jakavious.
