- The Ingalls-built USS Truxtun (DDG 103) an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, completed an at-sea sustainment exercise (SUSTEX) on February 7.
- According to the Navy this exercise involved integrated training aimed at enhancing the ship's tactical proficiency and readiness for global operations in a dynamic security environment.
- Carrier Strike Group 4 (CSG-4) led the training.
HOW IT RELATES TO YOU:
- The keel for DDG 103 was laid at Ingalls in 2005 and christened in 2007.
- DDG 103 is a multi-mission guided-missile destroyer with air warfare (AW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), naval surface fire support (NSFS), and surface warfare (SUW) capability.
- Its ship’s company includes approximately 300 Sailors, with an additional 40 embarked air wing personnel assigned to the “Vipers” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48.
