Organizational Announcement
I am pleased to announce that Joel Myers has been promoted to Director of Technical & Design Engineering. In this role, Joel will lead the Engineering & Design team, overseeing technical development, detailed design products (2D and 3D CAD), manufacturing aids, engineering services, and waterfront/field support across all of Ingalls' product lines. Additionally, he will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality design solutions, timely project execution, and alignment with strategic goals and customer expectations.
With over 20 years at Ingalls, including his most recent role as Chief Naval Architect, Joel has played a key role in driving successful outcomes across complex shipbuilding programs. He was also instrumental in the collaboration efforts between Ingalls and Newport News Shipbuilding to support design work on aircraft carriers in the CVN Program. His expertise in naval architecture, structural engineering and program management makes him well-suited to lead this critical function.
Joel holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Jackson County and Ingalls' Legacy Builders program, where he continues to serve as a mentor.
