Applications are now open for the 2025-2026 HII Scholarship Fund, which grants scholarships for early childhood and vocational or college degree programs. This program is one of the many ways HII invests in future generations of workers, from pre-K to college.

The HII Scholarship Fund was established in 2016 to provide financial assistance to dependent children of HII employees who are pursuing a post-secondary college or technical-vocational degree and to dependent children who are enrolled in qualifying pre-kindergarten school readiness programs.

All applications for the 2025-2026 HII Scholarship Fund must be submitted by 3 p.m. CST on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. For additional information or to apply, visit www.hii.com/scholarship

Up to 100 new scholarships will be awarded, which includes up to 50 scholarships for students in pre-K, up to 30 scholarships for students in four-year degree programs and up to 20 scholarships for students in two-year degree programs.

Individual award amounts range from $3,000 for selected students enrolled in a four-year college program, to $1,500 for selected students enrolled in two-year programs; the post-secondary awards are renewable for recipients who remain in good academic standing. The fund also awards scholarships of up to $3,000 for pre-school education costs.

Children of all HII employees are eligible to apply, with the exception of children of senior executives and those who have been with the company for less than two years. All scholarship recipients are selected by Scholarship America. The process is independent of HII.

Over the past nine years HII has awarded 1,555 scholarships, totaling more than $4.2 million — and our goal is to continue awarding 100 new scholarships each year.

HII supports numerous workforce development efforts for employees and the community - including investment in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education programs; partnerships with community colleges and technical schools to develop trade-based curriculum; summer internships for both students and teachers, and industry-leading apprentice schools at the company’s two shipyards.
