Please join me in congratulating Joey Ockman on his promotion to Ship Construction Manager effective immediately. In this new role, Joey will be responsible for overseeing the safety, quality, schedule and cost of LPD 30, helping drive key milestones, crafting strategic plans, advancing mission systems and ensuring the ship is ready for sea trials.

Joey brings three decades of experience to the team. Most recently, he served as General Ship Superintendent for LPD 29, where he played a pivotal role on the Ship’s Management team, ensuring construction deadlines were executed on schedule and with first-time quality.

Having been with Ingalls for 30 years, Joey began his career as a helper at Avondale straight out of high school. Through hard work and determination, he worked his way up, joining the Quality Assurance team as an inspector. After advancing to boat foreman and with nearly 20 years of service, Joey transferred to Ingalls in 2013, continuing to make significant contributions to our shipbuilding success.

Please join me in supporting Joey as he takes on this critical leadership role. With a focus on safety and collaboration, I am confident he will continue to drive excellence in ship construction.
