I am proud to announce that Jennifer Childs has been promoted to vice president of Quality & Engineering, beginning January 6, 2025. She will be responsible for the management and oversight of our quality program as well as all ship design, engineering, integrated logistics support and planning yard engineering efforts.

Jennifer, a former Navy Surface Warfare Officer (Nuclear), has been an integral part of our success for 17 years, and this well-deserved promotion reflects her exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to both our mission and the local community.

Since joining Ingalls in 2007, she has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to excellence in shipbuilding and engineering. In her current role as Director of Technical & Design Engineering, she has led a team of engineers, designers, and test engineers, overseeing the design, construction, and testing of some of the Navy’s most advanced warships and the Coast Guard’s National Security Cutter program.

Jennifer’s technical expertise is matched by her leadership in developing talent and fostering a culture of innovation within her team. She has consistently demonstrated the ability to manage complex projects, resolve technical challenges, and maintain strong customer relationships, both internally and externally.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the University of North Florida, Jennifer has earned a bachelor of science in physics and a master’s in business administration. She is a graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast and an active member of multiple organizations, including Ingalls’ Shipbuilding Women Engineers (SWE) employee resource group.

Please join me in congratulating Jennifer and in supporting her as she takes on this new leadership role.
