Terrance Hannah is a work leaderman in the Sheetmetal department who has nearly a decade of experience. On a daily basis, he carefully provides deckplate leadership on LHA 8, sharing construction knowledge with his fellow shipbuilders. Terrance understands his mentorship directly benefits the current state and future sustainability of our shipyard.

“I want to ensure the next wave of shipbuilders are able to construct the same world-class ships that have carried us for more than 85 years,” said Terrance.

Terrance’s daily motivation stems from a genuine love of the job, his desire to perfect his craft and foresight of his career legacy. He consistently exhibits unprecedented due diligence when inspecting jobs for compliance, and his attention to detail streamlines the product inspection process for Quality Assurance.

The integrity and camaraderie Terrance brings to Ingalls are embodied when he voluntarily carries out tasks that would typically be addressed by support welders, ensuring work orders, compartments and vessel milestones are completed on schedule. His selfless actions have directly contributed to 19 work orders and 18 compartments being closed with 0% defects this year.

“I am truly honored that my quality of work has been recognized by departmental leadership,” said Terrance. “Shipbuilding is tough and I am one of many doing great work on the deckplate.”

Thank you, Terrance, for truly exemplifying the mantra "Quality Matters."
