The rising cost of transportation is an issue that impacts the entire workforce. In an effort to provide a more affordable transportation alternative, Ingalls has partnered with Coast Transit Authority and Commute with Enterprise to put together vanpools for shipbuilders.

The vanpools are operated by shipbuilders who live close to one another, with each member paying a monthly fee to catch a ride with co-workers to the shipyard.

“The Enterprise Commute program is designed to offer Ingalls shipbuilders an affordable, flexible and reliable solution for their daily commute,” said Ben Weldon, manager, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development. “Enrollment is simple and there is no long-term commitment required to join the vanpool program.”

How it Works:

Get Together: We’ll connect you with 4–15 coworkers who live nearby.

Choose Your Vehicle: Select a spacious, recent-model SUV, crossover or van.

Get Going: Drivers take turns, giving everyone time to relax.

Enjoy The Ride: Use your time your way, enjoying savings and less stress.
