For Everyone’s Safety | Modified work week for Pascagoula and Avondale facilities

Published 12/19/2022

To provide for the safety of our shipbuilders, based on the expected rain and freezing temperatures, Pascagoula and Avondale facilities will shutdown effective 11 p.m. Thursday, December 22nd. Shipbuilders who are required on-site will be notified separately by their supervision.

Below you will find guidelines for your classification:

Represented: All represented shipbuilders will be paid for all hours worked through 11 p.m. Thursday, December 22. Efforts will be made to enable you to work a full work week. In addition, the requirement to work five hours before the holiday has been waived. Represented shipbuilders may also take vacation to satisfy their 40 hours.

Non-exempt: For Friday, December 23rd during shutdown, you may either use paid time off (PTO) or receive no pay. For those able to work a 40 hour shift Monday - Thursday (December 19-22) please speak with your management.

Exempt: All exempt shipbuilders are expected to account for 40 hours Monday - Thursday (December 19-22) through a combination of work time and/or PTO.

This applies to all shipbuilders working in Pascagoula and Avondale facilities.
