COVID-19 Update - September 30, 2022

Published 09/30/2022

Per CDC guidance, Ingalls Shipbuilding will no longer be required to collect and contact trace COVID-19 cases. Today, September 30, the Ingalls Medical department will disconnect the nurse call line and will discontinue the daily collection of COVID-19 cases. This means that the COVID-19 phone line and response email address will no longer be active as of October 1.

The Ingalls Medical department will remain engaged to assure that the most current CDC guidelines for COVID-19 are being followed.

Current guidelines require that a COVID-19 positive individual must quarantine at home for five days beginning the day after a positive test is received. There is no requirement to be medically cleared or tested to return to work, only to complete the five days out.

Beginning October 1, all time missed due to COVID-19 will fall under the standard leave and absence policy. This will become an absence tracking issue under the normal leave policy and should be treated like any other non-industrial illness/leave.

Shipbuilders should stay informed on all COVID-19 related information through the CDC website Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) | CDC.
