BECAUSE OF YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
- The America-class amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7), which was built by Ingalls, will move to Sasebo, Japan, as part of a scheduled rotation of forces in the Pacific. LHA 7 will replace USS America (LHA 6), another Ingalls-built ship, which will depart Sasebo and move to San Diego. The two ships are pictured together above during a 2022 training exercise.
- According to the U.S. Navy, the forward presence of LHA 7 supports the United States' commitment to Japan's defense, enhances national security, and improves the ability to protect strategic interests. By stationing the most capable ships in the Indo-Pacific, USS Tripoli directly supports the Defense Strategic Guidance, ensuring rapid response times for maritime and joint forces and bringing the greatest striking power and operational capability to bear in a timely manner.

- Ingalls laid the keel for USS America (LHA 6) in 2009. The ship was christened in 2012 with Mrs. Lynne Pace, wife of retired U.S. Marine Corps Gen.
