Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103), U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stone (WMSL 758), both of which were built at Ingalls, and Canadian Halifax-class frigate HMCS Ville de Québec (FFH 332) are currently conducting maritime stability and security operations in the Atlantic Ocean.
DDG 103 is named for American naval hero, Commodore Thomas Truxtun, who was one of the first six commanders appointed by George Washington to the newly formed U.S. Navy. The ship was built by Ingalls and delivered to the Navy in 2009.
Stone (WMSL 758) is the ninth Legend-class cutter of the United States Coast Guard and was delivered by Ingalls in 2020. The ship is named for Commander Elmer “Archie” Fowler Stone, who in 1917 became the USCG’s first aviator and, two years later, was the pilot of the first aircraft to accomplish a trans-Atlantic flight.
