On Thursday, November 14, Ingalls Shipbuilding welcomed eight Mayors Youth Council programs from across the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a day of learning, networking, and inspiration. The event brought together 92 students and 14 council advisors from the cities of Long Beach, Gulfport, D’Iberville, Ocean Springs, Gautier, Pascagoula, Moss Point, and Lucedale.

The agenda focused on leadership development and effective communication, featuring insights from college leaders, students, and young professionals who shared practical advice for life after high school.

The day concluded with a unique “Flip the Script” panel, where students answered questions for an audience of council advisors, Long Beach and Pascagoula Superintendents of Education, and State Senator Jeremy England.

“It was an honor to host these young leaders from across the Gulf Coast at Ingalls,” said Lisa Bradley, Ingalls Shipbuilding manager of corporate stewardship and community relations. “They all represent our future, and understanding their concerns and aspirations is essential as we help to shape the next generation of workers and community leaders.”
