The season of giving reminds us that the need for community support and care for one another is year-round. Daily, the United Way of Jackson, George and Greene Counties provides resources for people in our community who need a little help to make ends meet. Often, families are faced with unforeseeable circumstances that result in a need for shelter, food and protection. United Way is there with the resources and information needed to keep a difficult moment from turning into a catastrophic life event.
United Way supports a number of partner agencies who provide important services related to housing and food security, domestic violence, youth services, medical services and referral services that are crucial to our community. United Way is an important resource agency for Ingalls Shipbuilding, bridging the gap for shipbuilders and their families during difficult times.
Ingalls and the United Way work together to ensure shipbuilders have an opportunity to give back in a way that is meaningful to them. Ingalls offers a payroll deduction program for monetary donations that can be directed to United Way, any of its partner agencies or any other agency that is important to you. For as little as $1 a week, you can join the more than 1,800 shipbuilders who are strengthening and protecting our community through their support of United Way.
